The idea of politicians selecting politically appropriate judges, egged on by newspapers with their own agendas is a quick way to bring the legal system in the UK into disrepute - our independent judiciary is held in far higher esteem than our rather shabby politicians, and, dare I say it, national newspaper owners who aren't even resident in the country .
