I always find it slightly odd that commentators here considerer that some legal rights have more merit than others. The laws relating to holiday sickness claims, dodgy hair dye and minor whiplash injuries are no less valid than those for catastrophic injuries. Making a claim for your loss is a right that Is generally accepted as being a good thing or are we saying we would prefer that there was no legal redress for sufferering relatively modest illness/injury ? If so perhaps we should extend that to all consumer matters worth ,say, under a couple of grand. Sold a pup ? Suck it up !
