The real issue here is the constant emphasis on one type of law firm structure, which has been rejected by the most innovative economy in the world, the USA.

In contrast there is no promotion by the Law Society of the virtues of the traditional law firm.

The vacuum of leadership on a range of issues is doing lasting damage to the fabric of a historically respected profession.

The Law Society has discarded fundamental principles from its own Charter, which makes it clear, that it represents all solicitors, not just those whose professionalism is being corrupted and subordinated by the rapacious demands of outside investors.

Yes solicitors do have a monopoly in ethics that it is why we all joined a profession in the first place.
