I hope someone had the "bottle" to ask Gove whether he meets his share of the costs attributable to legal aid for himself and the the costs of his legal aid staff out of his income. Those costs would of course include for his staff rent, business rates, telephones, copying, post etc. That would fairly describe what legal aid lawyers have to find week in week out. In addition has he returned a percentage of his net salary to the Treasury to equate with the reduction of fees allowed to legal aid lawyers. I no longer practise in legally aided matters but I do feel for those who do.
