To anon at 14.53 on 18 April: A couple of years ago I had to serve a s.25 notice on the NHS. In researching online the entity to be served, I discovered that what had been one entity - NHS Property Services - had become 13. There was no obvious rationale for this fragmentation, apart from parcelling up for privatisation. There was no information available as to which property had fallen into which new entity.

I was slightly reassured, when I served the s.25 notice, to be called by solicitors representing the NHS Trust, who frankly acknowledged that they had no idea who now leased the property in question either.

There may be other rational reasons for this fragmentation of the property portfolio, but it looks awfully like a break-up with a view to privatisation.
