"any disagreement to the notion was 'redundant of any coherent contrary argument'"

Is it though? I was under the impression that according to our legal system the alleged abuser was innocent at the point of conducting the cross examination.

There is a balance to be struck between the rights of the alleged victim to not suffer further abuse and the alleged abuser to get a fair trial. The suggestions that this is an easy decision and that the Defendant's rights to a fair trial are not "a coherent contrary argument" are ridiculous and in my view call into question the judge's ability to give impartial and reasoned judgments.
