When holiday companies stop treating genuine claimants as criminals, and in this respect I speak from personal experience following a completely ruined holiday for myself, my wife, and our two children, as a result of a sickness bug that was sweeping the hotel in question, but which the holiday company following our return flatly denied even existed, and followed this up by threatening me that they would involve the police alleging a fraudulent claim, any wonder that the majority of genuine claimants do not approach holiday companies directly, but engage solicitors who apparently in this area of litigation.

While I acknowledge that there will always be the chancers and the criminally minded who will raise false claims, and that stamping this out completely is probably impossible, nevertheless if the holiday companies put their own houses in order first, employed and/or trained their holiday reps properly, and bothered investigating matters either thoroughly or at all rather than employing individuals aggressively to fight any genuine claim, they might perhaps be whingeing rather less than they are presently, or is that a pink thing with a curly tail I just saw fly past.
