I am a solicitor with many, many years experience of dealing with complex commercial property work. I would not wish to try to do any of my own legal work if I could avoid it. Many firms have always refused to allow their lawyers to handle their own conveyancing (and that was before the CML Handbook) and for good reason - you rarely do as good a job for yourself as you would for a client - you need the emotional detachment for a start.

To really understand what you are doing is also rather important, isn't it.

I think anyone who thinks Lasting Powers of Attorney are simple, is probably not really understanding them.

Also perhaps you might expect that some-one who has had to pay a large sum of money for a service is going to be less likely to be "happy" about it and understandably would rather have not had to spend the money in the first place, however good that service might have been, so I consider the statistics are, in light of this, pretty good!
