Welcome to the court system in 21st century England. I have sat at one crown court where the roof between chambers and the court leaked so badly when it rained you needed a brolly to get into court, then couldn't hear anything because of the noise of the rain falling into the buckets eventually placed there, the air conditioning was stuck on freezing immediately above the Jury (in the middle of winter) and a barrister almost fainted because the heating was stuck full on during the height of the summer. And that's not even at York Crown Court where the court was convened on the steps so as to enable a disabled man to be arraigned!
