“consumers now demand more information about law firms and want the ability to search for one that best suits their needs”. Perfectly acceptable.

Why should I be forced to take part? Should this not be my decision and not imposed upon me by the SRA, the LSB and the CMA?

I object in the strongest terms that the LSB and the SRA feel that they have the right to tell me how I should promote my business.

In the meantime the SRA does nothing about the outrageous bumf that appears on Motoring Lawyer sites nor the ridiculous promises made to induce people to part with up to £8k in the hopeless pursuit of a “legal loophole”. The SRA needs to get its priorities sorted.

If the public demand the right to choose a law firm that best suits the individual’s needs I demand the right not to give them what they (appear) to demand. If they ask nicely, and after they tell me about their issue(s) then I shall tell them how much I will charge. If they don’t like it they can try elsewhere. Meantime my competitors can advertise their prices, service levels and expertise if that is what they want to do. And they can undercut all genuine like quotes is they want. And they can do work for nothing if they want too.

It’s about the freedom to choose.
