I agree with all the comments, it is incredibly sad regardless of what your view is.

As a non-lawyer who has worked in the industry for nearly 30 years I find the majority of High Street firm's contain laywers who just want to do a really good job for their clients, for a fair sum of money.

They focus on the provision of providing this service, often at the price of ignoring the financial warning signs that time needs to be invested in the steering the business. I have done a fair bit of pro bono work for High Street firms over the years (especially legal aid firms) because I feel passionate about the service that they provide and the role that they play in helping people. I would just urge those High Street firms who ignore those financial signs - ask for help, we all need help sometimes!
