Without wishing to be overly elitist, faced with a bunch of CVs for a role and all other things being equal, I would want to interview those who had a law degree or the one year legal conversion course (whatever it's called these days). There's no shortage of good candidates fitting that description, so I struggle to understand why this is necessary or desirable. Hard though that may be, I suspect I'm not the only employer who will take that view. I worry that these young people will be taking on debt to do a course that many people will just not value.
