For many people discrimination is just an excuse for their own shortcomings. When certain people are picked up for poor performance, mistakes or even just bad timekeeping, I often hear the excuse that everybody else does it but they are never picked up for it, you’re just picking on me. The reality is that everybody else IS picked up for that behaviour, but, quite rightly in private so the ‘victimised individual’ doesn’t see it and so feels that only his / her behaviour is admonished.

Whilst discrimination certainly exists in most if not all walks of life, a lot of individuals claim ‘discrimination’ to cover up their own short comings. In doing so, they do a huge disservice to genuine victims of real discrimination.
