I decided last night to read the original SDT judgment. The misconduct was quite protracted.

If I think of a time when I was perhaps 5 years pqe would I have dictated and backdated letters for a secretary to type? No - I would have known that such was not correct. But would I have thought that doing so would have led to a strike off - absolutely not.

However the position of the SRA is not surprising. Whether the SRA was justified or not in appealing the decision (I think it probably was) it is perceived by the profession as a nasty, vindictive and out of touch regulator led by a man who really did say "you win some and you lose some" No Mr Phillip, I do not proceed with the mentality of "win some and lose some" and if you had proper professional ethics nor would you.
