It has been six weeks and a day since 1973. Occasionally, human nature being what it is, couples regret divorcing and re-marry (or resume cohabitation), but is there any evidence that this is true of the majority of cases? As the article points out, while there remains a financial or residence/contact dispute to sort out the court will not grant decree absolute anyway. What is the reason to think that here is a problem that needs fixing?
