Personally, I think Richard Moorhead's argument here is rather clear, but to spell out its meaning in very clear terms: the point where a client asks you to do something that is not legal, which your regulator also says you should not do, and you just do it anyway because it's the client's instructions - that's the point where you stop being a lawyer and start being something else.

Another example of this principle would be instructions that enable money laundering.
