Law Society Charity, The
This charitable fund was established in 1974, independent and in close collaboration with The Law Society (TLS), making grant awards to a wide range of organisations with a view to further law and justice. The Charity supports organisations whose work is related to the law and legal profession; and whose activities would likely benefit from funds made available on behalf of solicitors.
The Solicitors’ Charity
The Solicitors’ Charity has been supporting solicitors in crisis since 1858. When times are hard, we provide financial, emotional and practical support to help people take back control. Our goal is to help people to make positive, lasting changes to improve their lives for the better.
Angel Advocates
Angel Advocates is a Christian charity offering independent and legal advocacy when needed. Our purpose is to empower and enable all our clients to tell their truths to power. We want all our clients to have an Angel with them when they face life’s challenges, from the classroom to the courtroom. We know that having someone in your corner, just for you, with no agenda other than making sure your views are heard, has the power to change lives.
LawCare
LawCare is the mental wellbeing charity for the legal community. We offer free, confidential support to everyone working in the law including students and support staff in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Legal professionals are more likely to experience mental ill health due to long hours, emotive cases, high work intensity and low psychological safety in the workplace.
LawWorks
LawWorks (the operating name for the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) is a charity working to enable access to justice through connecting people to free legal advice. Covid-19 has already had a significant impact on the vulnerable groups and communities supported by clinics on the LawWorks network, our members and volunteers. Many people will suffer from loss of employment, difficulty accessing benefits, housing issues, and domestic abuse, and these issues are likely to continue long after the immediate crisis is over.
Support Through Court
Every year, thousands of people in the UK face court alone. Often through no choice of their own, they must represent themselves at a moment that could determine the rest of their life. We stand with those who have nowhere else to turn. We provide a free service across England and Wales, offering support and guidance before, during, and after court.
