A former barrister of the year who made ‘repeated’ sexual advances to an unnamed woman has been fined.

According to an independent disciplinary tribunal John Randall made sexual advances to a woman referred to as ‘Ms X’ by repeatedly touching and stroking her thigh without her consent.

The act took place in November 2014 in a bar at Highgate House in Northamptonshire.

According to the tribunal, which handed down its ruling on Wednesday, Randall ‘failed to act with integrity’. He was fined £2,000 and reprimanded.

Randall was called to the bar in 1978. Last year he was named UK Land and Property Barrister of the Year by a legal publication.
