Browne Jacobson is targeting an ambitious growth plan as it relocates its Manchester office to No.1 Spinningfields.

The top 50 UK law firm moved its Manchester team of 48 lawyers, HR professionals and support staff from its former base at 3 Piccadilly Place on 4 December 2017. It is now looking to at least double its workforce and will employ over 100 staff within the next five years.

To facilitate this growth, the firm signed a 10-year lease on 11,055 sq. ft. of Grade A high performance office space in the heart of Manchester’s financial district. The combined package and support allows Browne Jacobson staff to work flexibly.

Browne Jacobson has experienced a period of sustained organic growth and is committed to expanding its service offering across the North West. The firm already offers legal services in areas such as education, healthcare, property and employment and is now looking to provide innovative services to new clients in the private sector.

Over the last five years, Browne Jacobson has seen revenues grow by 52 per cent and posted turnover of £66.8m for the financial year ending 30 April 2017. Turnover for the Manchester office has increased 192% from £1.3m in 2013/14 to £3.8m in 2016/17.

Kerren Daly, partner at Browne Jacobson, said: ’It’s an incredibly exciting time for the firm as we settle into our new home. We have welcomed a number of highly skilled partners with exceptional pedigree over the last 12 months and are confident that this will provide us with the platform required to achieve our ambitious growth targets.

So far, our expansion has been driven organically, starting with strong levels of activity across health, public sector, property and education and then building on that through our commercial practice with specialisms like employment. We will continue to focus on strengthening these core practice areas, while also identifying new ways in which to develop our business in order to support our clients and their needs.’

Browne Jacobson has offices in London, Birmingham, Exeter and Nottingham and employs 970 staff nationally. The firm’s client service was awarded Gold star status by Investor in Customers (IIC) in 2017.
