Winckworth Sherwood has welcomed specialist real estate and construction energy lawyer Rubianka Winspear to the firm as partner.
She joins the firm from Trowers & Hamlins where she was a senior associate in its energy and sustainability team.
Winspear is an expert in energy law including heating, cooling, decarbonisation and renewable energy programmes, as well as utility connections on large commercial and residential development schemes. She will advise the firm’s clients on the energy aspects of real estate projects.
She has specialist knowledge of the newly regulated heat network market, including ESCO concessions and other heat and cooling supply arrangements, utility connections, solar and electricity supply arrangements, electric vehicle charging and wider energy efficiency and retrofit projects.
Winspear commented: 'Winckworth Sherwood is recognised as a market leader in the real estate and social housing sectors. With a newly regulated heat network market, alternative approaches to dealing with electricity grid constraints and continued government policy focusing on achieving net zero, there are key opportunities to work with clients to deliver energy projects.
’I am looking forward to starting at Winckworth Sherwood and providing a targeted energy offering to clients in a way that builds upon the existing strengths of the firm.’
Richard Tinham, managing partner at Winckworth Sherwood, said: 'Rubi is a terrific appointment bringing the deep specialist expertise our clients increasingly need. We look forward to working alongside her and to the contributions she will bring.’
