Paul Hastings LLP has announced that preeminent M&A partner Roger Barron will be joining the firm in London, having been a partner at Linklaters for more than 17 years.

'Roger has an outstanding market presence, with considerable experience and a formidable track record with a number of blue-chip clients,' said Seth Zachary, chair of Paul Hastings.

'The London legal market is in a dynamic state and I believe that Paul Hastings is particularly well placed to offer clients a truly transatlantic service,' Barron said. 'I look forward to working with the team in London and across the firm.'

Barron is a specialist in corporate law, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, demergers and reorganisations and corporate finance. He has a wide range of sector expertise, including energy, utilities, media, and telecoms. He is a key boardroom adviser to a number of FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients. He is also featured in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 2018 and in 2017 collected a Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Award and the British Legal Award for M&A.

Barron’s appointment follows the recent appointments of private equity partner Anu Balasubramanian and privacy and cybersecurity partner Sarah Pearce to the London office, announced earlier this month. Paul Hastings recently announced 25 per cent revenue growth in the London office, following a very successful 2017 that saw the firm take the leading role in key transactions including the restructuring of The Cooperative Bank and the €3.5 billion acquisition by a Xavier Niel-led consortium of eir, the incumbent Irish telecommunications operator.
