Alia Lewis

TV Edwards Solicitors has welcomed Alia Lewis as partner and head of public law children.

Lewis has extensive experience representing neurodivergent individuals and families.

She began her career at TV Edwards in 2002 as a paralegal before qualifying as a solicitor and gaining children law accreditation. Lewis later joined Duncan Lewis Solicitors, where she founded the UK’s first autism and ADHD specialist legal unit. This pioneering initiative earned her the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Award for Children’s Rights in 2023.

Lewis, the parent of an autistic child, is co-founder of the Family Law Advice for the Neurodivergent Community (FLANC).

Lewis specialises in complex public and private children law cases which often involve highly sensitive issues such as fabricated or induced illness, non-accidental injury, substance misuse and mental health. She covers care proceedings, deprivation of liberty, secure accommodation and special guardianship.

Managing partner Julian Overton commented: 'Alia’s ground-breaking work in neurodivergent advocacy aligns seamlessly with our values and vision. Her arrival further strengthens our ability to offer expert, compassionate representation to clients with complex needs.'
