Firm hires and promotions featured on the Gazette’s Movers page this week

Law firms small and large have got in touch with their recent new joiners and appointments.

Wright Hassall’s very first legal apprentices join the Leamington Spa-based firm, with more new starter opportunities set for later in the year. Connie Bell, Sophie Hayne, and Molly Clarke have started a two-year apprenticeship programme with the aim to build their law careers within the firm. 

Elsewhere, Cindy Dorrington has been appointed managing partner at Bivonas Law, having joined the boutique City firm in 2012, while Judge & Priestley LLP in Bromley has welcomed Kelly Sharman as partner and head of family law.   

Birmingham firm Emms Gilmore Liberson has grown its property litigation team with the appointment of Paul Pinder as director and Thomas Walsh as associate solicitor. 

At Spire Solicitors in Norfolk, Rebecca Johnstone, Howard Bailey, and Julie Crowder-Barr have been all been promoted. Rebecca steps into the role of senior associate within the private client department, while Howard and Julie take on associate positions in the commercial property and residential conveyancing departments respectively. 

In the north west, Forbes Solicitors has expanded its employment team into Manchester city centre, a move that has seen a number of new appointments including partner Emma Swan, now head of commercial employment, and partner Ruth Rule-Mullen who has become head of public sector employment.  

Finally, national firm Weightmans has announced that construction and engineering lawyer Ian Hardman has taken on a partner role in its Manchester office.
