Power stakes: City firm Herbert Smith advised Chinese power producer Huaneng Power International on acquiring a 55% stake in YangLiuQing Co-generation and a 41% stake in Beijing Co-generation from Huaneng International Power Development Corporation. The stakes are worth RMB2.35bn (£237m) combined.
Skypark scheme: London and Exeter firm Michelmores advised property regeneration company St. Modwen Properties on an agreement with Devon County Council to develop the Skypark £210m real estate project in Exeter. The firm said 7,500 jobs and 1.4 million square feet of office space will be created as part of the 20-year regeneration scheme. National firm Pinsent Masons advised the council.
Diamond shares: City firm Charles Russell advised investment bank JP Morgan Cazenove as financial adviser and sponsor to diamond mining business Gem Diamonds, on raising $107m (£73m) for Gem Diamonds through a share placing. Gem Diamonds was advised by magic circle firm Linklaters.
Pub package: London firm Wedlake Bell advised brewer and pub operator Fuller, Smith & Turner on buying six London pubs from pub operator Punch Taverns for £21.1m. Magic circle firm Slaughter and May advised Punch Taverns.
Green lease: City firms Nabarro and Pinsent Masons, and national firm Eversheds, advised the Better Buildings Partnership, a consortium of property owners tasked with reducing carbon dioxide emissions, on producing a ‘green lease toolkit’. The toolkit gives guidance on energy, waste and water reduction strategies for owners and occupiers.
Marketing merger: Manchester firm Ralli advised digital marketing agency Crayon on its merger with relationship marketing agency Hicklin Slade and Partners, which was advised by south-west firm Osborne Clarke. The deal value was undisclosed.
