Spanish sale: Magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer advised a consortium of private equity funds including RREEF Alternative Investments, Area and Europa Fund, on a €1.2bn (£1.1bn) sale and leaseback scheme for 1,000 bank branches and buildings across Spain acquired from Spanish bank BBVA. Health share: City firm Norton Rose advised stockbroker Numis Securities as sponsor, broker and underwriter on a £60m share placing by Primary Health Properties, a healthcare property company. City firm Nabarro advised PHP.
Snackpot: Aldershot, Camberley and Wokingham firm Herrington & Carmichael advised vending machine operator SnackTime on its £1.5m acquisition of MBM Business Systems, the vending machine franchiser. Thames Valley firm Owen White advised MBM Business Systems.
Deal cemented: Magic circle firm Linklaters advised Azerbaijan cement producer Garadagh Cement on a €300m (£280m) financing to upgrade its cement plant. A loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will finance new production technology. EBRD was advised by US firm Baker Botts.
