Peterborough-headquartered Buckles Law has acquired Miller Rosenfalck, a London international boutique specialising in cross-border work with particular expertise in the German and Scandinavian markets. Miller also covers France, Italy and North America.
Six lawyers join Buckles as Partners: Edzard Clifton-Dey (employment) Kevin Harrison, John Kenneally and Chris Rodda (dispute resolution) Steen Rosenfalck (corporate commercial) and Isabel Sylvestre (Immigration).
Miller Rosenfalck was founded in 2002 by Steen Rosenfalck, dual-qualified as a Danish advokat and an English solicitor. He has advised Danish businesses on their UK interests for more than two decades. The firm’s international character is reflected in a team that includes dual-qualified and multilingual lawyers able to work across different legal systems, languages and business cultures, Buckles said.
The acquisition strengthens Buckles’ commercial offering in employment, dispute resolution and corporate commercial work, while also introducing an immigration service line.
Duncan Jackson, Buckles Law chief executive, said: ‘International work has always set Buckles apart from other regional firms and Miller Rosenfalck shares that outlook. Their lawyers bring deep knowledge of German and Danish business, alongside real strength in employment, disputes and corporate work. Importantly, we share a way of working. Both firms nurture their own talent and give people autonomy and flexibility, which sits comfortably alongside our values as one of fewer than 50 B Corp certified law firms in the UK.
’Bringing lawyers of this calibre into our expanded London office will accelerate growth. Together, we have a stronger foothold in the capital and a broader service for international clients.’
New Buckles partner Steen Rosenfalck said: ‘Our clients come to us because we understand their legal system and their culture and very often we speak their language too. Joining Buckles gives them access to a far wider range of expertise without losing any of that.’
