Attorney general Jeremy Wright QC listens as law student Jaycie Chan explains the work of the new legal advice centre at King’s College London.

Wright, the government’s pro bono champion, was visiting the centre during pro bono week. ‘Pro bono is an ancient legal tradition that widens access to justice,’ he said.

Stephen Levett, director of clinical legal education at King’s, said: ‘By spending time with clients and professional lawyers, our students gain first-hand experience of listening and responding to client problems. They learn skills which will put them in good stead in their future professional careers.’
