Top ten global firm CMS has appointed 49 new partners worldwide in a record promotion round, including 21 in London. Sixteen of the 21 UK appointments are women, among a 47% female cohort globally.

CMS was greatly enlarged through its three-way megamerger with Nabarro and Olswang on 1 May 2017. The firm reported a pre-tax profit of £159.9m for the year ended April 2018, 89% up on the previous 12 months.

Commenting on the promotions, spread across 23 countries, senior partner of CMS UK Penelope Warne said: ‘It is great to see such a strong representation of women in this year’s partner promotions. We strive to build an inclusive and progressive culture, underpinned by policies, training and support, that empowers our people to rise through the ranks.’
