Convicted stalker solicitor Andrew Milne is set to face the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. The SDT has certified there is a case to answer in relation to the allegation that between March 2024 and August 2024, Milne ‘pursued a course of conduct which amounted to…stalking’. Milne was convicted of stalking without fear after a seven-day trial at Stratford magistrates’ court in February this year.
His conduct towards legal blogger Daniel Cloake in 2024 was said to amount to harassment after he sent hundreds of emails to Cloake, left him two voicemails on his birthday, sent him a book and was seen ‘loitering outside’ Cloake’s home following two lunches at the Law Society.

He was sentenced to a two-year community order and ordered not to contact Cloake for seven years.
Milne’s case before the SDT has yet to be listed. The Solicitors Regulation Authority said: ‘The allegations are subject to a hearing before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and are as yet unproven.’

The Gazette understands Milne, admitted in November 1986, is appealing his conviction and sentence. An appeal of a magistrates’ court decision means a complete retrial in the Crown court.
The SRA restricted Milne’s practising certificate shortly after his conviction. Further conditions were imposed on Milne’s practising certificate in June this year.
