Warmest deal: Manchester firm Lockett Loveday McMahon advised Hertel UK on the disposal of its specialist insulation products subsidiary Bold Nu-Tec to Anglitemp. Newcastle firm Sintons advised the buyers.


Most liquid deal: City firm Norton Rose acted for Vincor International, one of north America's largest wine producers, on the acquisition of Western Wines for £135 million. Western Wines owns the Kumala brand and is the largest independent wine importer and distributor in the UK. The Birmingham office of Hammonds acted for the sellers, who included Western Wines founder Roger Gabb and private equity house Bridgepoint.



Most moreish deal: City firm Allen & Overy is advising United Biscuits (UB) on its multi-million Euro purchase of Jacobs' Biscuit Group, the UK and Ireland business of Danone. The deal will see Jacobs' Cream Crackers, Twiglets and Thai Bites added to UB's portfolio. City firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer acted for Danone.



Fastest deal: Altrincham firm Neil Myerson acted for Peter Wheeler and his family on the sale of their 100% shareholding in Lancashire-based sports car manufacturer TVR to 24-year-old Russian businessman Nikolai Smolenski for an undisclosed sum. London firm Leon Kaye Solicitors advised Mr Smolenski.



Most financial deal: Birmingham and London firm Wragge & Co advised Inter-Alliance Group on its merger with Millfield Group. The merger creates the UK's largest independent financial adviser network with a combined turnover of £105 million. City firm Lawrence Graham advised Millfield.



Smartest deal: Regional firm Mills & Reeve advised Smart Holograms on a private equity investment deal worth up to £5 million. Smart Holograms is developing non-invasive holographic sensor technology with a range of applications in the field of diagnostics, drug delivery and medical devices. City firm Clyde & Co acted for the investors, Partnerships UK and Circus Capital Technology.
