Most landed deal: Regional firm Mills & Reeve acted for Smith-Woolley, one of the oldest land management partnerships in the UK, on its takevover by FPD Savills for £2.4 million. Salisbury firm Wilsons advised the purchaser.

Bulkiest deal: National firm Pinsents advised the management shareholders of Enact, the provider of volume legal services to the housing sector, on its acquisition by First Title for an undisclosed sum. The transaction comes only 15 months after Enact was bought out by its management from national firm Addleshaw Goddard. First Title was advised by The City Law Partnership.


Artiest deal: City firm Wedlake Bell acted for clients of Delta Property Services on the acquisition of the Chelsea College of Art building and the Ralph West hall of residence in Battersea for more than £30 million. Among its alumni are artist Chris Ofili and sculptor Anish Kapoor. City firm Nabarro Nathanson acted for the seller, The University of the Arts, London.


Steeliest deal: The Leeds and Sheffield offices of Irwin Mitchell advised Van Leeuwen Precision on the acquisition of steel tube suppliers M/K Wheeler for an undisclosed sum. National firm Eversheds advised the seller, the US-owned Marmon Group.


Blackest deal: City firm Field Fisher Waterhouse acted for Radio Taxis Group, London's second-largest black cab company, on its demutualisation, private equity fundraising and listing on ShareMark. The deal involved the creation of the UK's first on-line closed market for share dealing. Birmingham and London firm Wragge & Co advised Brian McBride, owner of the Yellow Cab Company in Cleveland, Ohio, and his family interests on their investment in Radio Taxis.


Inter-planetary deal: City firm Simmons & Simmons acted for the Jupiter Enhanced Income Investment Trust and Jupiter Financial Trust on their rollover with the Jupiter Split Trust, advised by Norton Rose, and the Second Scottish National Trust, advised by Herbert Smith. The deal sees the trusts' combined £680 million of assets rolled over into two new investment trusts and the defined capital return fund.
