A defendant law firm has announced the capture of an entire-28-strong team from a rival outfit. DWF had already announced in July that partners Richard West, Clare Mulligan, Gareth Thomas and Jennifer Harris would join its major injury and casualty team from Kennedys.
It has now been revealed that a further 24 people will transfer to DWF offices in London and Leeds as part of the move. They include director Nicola Hammerton, senior associates Milena Iyer, Sue Lovegrove, Lindsey Mayor, Michael Seggie, Louise Law, Dan Petty, Rebecca Howlett, Georgina Cox, Lauren Brock and Norma Marley, and a wider team of associates, solicitors and legal professionals.
They bring with them experience in areas such as liability defence, catastrophic injury, travel litigation, regulatory law and crisis management.
Matthew Doughty, group chief executive and head of DWF’s insurance services division, said: ‘The arrival of these 28 colleagues marks a significant expansion of our major injury and casualty practice.‘The breadth and calibre of this intake is outstanding and reinforces our position as a leading provider of legal and business services to the insurance industry.’ A fifth major injury partner, Victoria Kennedy, will join DWF in early October from DAC Beachcroft.
Kennedys declined to comment.
DWF is now owned by private equity house Inflexion Private Equity Partners, after a period as a publicly-listed company. Around 2,000 work for the firm across the world in its insurance services division.
