Government award supports Linklaters' work-life projects
City firm Linklaters has been awarded 55,000 worth of consultancy advice by the government in recognition of its innovative work-life balance projects.The funding comes from the Challenge Fund, and will pay for external consultants to advise on ways to improve work-life balance.In 1997, Linklaters was the first City law firm to introduce flexible working hours, and executive partner Mark Payne said: 'Employees' expectations have changed, particularly younger people, and they now want a good work-life balance.'As a result, he said, the firm was constantly looking at ways to improve its employees' work-life balance.
'We are keen to be at the forefront of innovative ways of thinking and working, and this grant will help us to work with other organisations and learn from their experiences.'Victoria MacCallum
