I agree with WM Fudge that we should try not to use Latin, but I find it difficult to use two short English words to convey the same meaning as ex parte (see [2003] Gazette, 20 November, 15).
The other day, I tried to work out how to say obiter dictum in English, usually shortened to obiter, in less than a paragraph.
Suggestions please.
