A north of England law firm that has represented high-profile clients including Coleen Rooney in the ‘Wagatha Christie’ case and England cricketer Ben Stokes has announced it will be breaking into the London market this year following another financially buoyant year.

In recent years Brabners, 'proudly anchored in the north since 1815', has invested in major office relocations in Manchester and on the outskirts of Preston, and entered the Yorkshire market with an office in Leeds.

Following an eight consecutive year of growth, in which revenues for the year to April 2025 climbed 11.7% to £60.2m, Brabners has decided to open an office in the City this year.

The London office will be led by senior partners Stuart Hatchers, who has joined from Forsters and is a director of Premier League football club Brentford, and litigation specialist Russell Strong, who joins from gunnercooke.

Surpassing the £60m revenue mark was a ‘significant milestone’, said Brabers CEO Robert White. Pre-tax profits (before members’ remuneration and profit shares) climbed from £18.1m to £20.3m.

'This year’s financial performance provides a fantastic springboard as we begin the next phase of our growth. Most notably marked with our entry into the London market,' White said.
