The law firm created when Royds Withy King merged with City boutique Goodman Derrick in 2022 has posted one of this year’s biggest hikes in partner profits among the top-100.
RWK Goodman, a major presence along the M4 corridor, has reported profit per equity partner of £411,152 for the year ended 31 March. This constitutes a like-for-like rise of 60% on the £235,037 achieved over the previous 11-month accounting period.
Net profit climbed from £10.1m (11 months) to £16.5m, while income rose from £50.4m to £66.9m. RWK Goodman is targeting £100m-plus revenue by 2030.
All three practice divisions – commercial, private, and injury – grew in 2024-25, while the firm’s sector focus in commercial continued to expand. The Health & Social Care team reported a 34% year-on-year revenue rise, the firm said.
Further expansion was achieved following the appointment of a six-strong team, including two partners, to the firm’s compensation protection unit and the absorption of Swindon injury firm SJ Edney & Co in August last year.
Paul Daniels, who succeeded Graham Street as managing partner in July, said: ‘Our continued commitment to our people and our culture are key to these results, but my thanks must also go to our clients and the network of people and organisations we collaborate with for their unwavering support during this exciting period for the firm. It’s through them we have seen such strong growth as a firm over the last decade - growing more than 200% since 2015 – and I’m positive we can maintain that ambition in the coming years to solidify ourselves as a leading national law firm.’
RWK Goodman employs more than 620 at eight offices stretching along the M4 corridor from London to Cardiff. It is also present in Manchester and Sheffield.
The equity partnership rose to 70 in 2024-25, up from 64 the previous year. Six new partners have been recruited to the Bristol office since last September.
