Law Society notices ; ;Revenue Law Committee appointment of committee members ; ;The Law Society is seeking to appoint members to its revenue law committee and its sub-committees.

There are specialist sub-committees in each of the following areas: capital taxes, corporation tax, income tax, international tax, petroleum tax, stamp duty, VAT & Duties.

Vacancies might also occur next year and this exercise will be used to identify suitable candidates to fill those positions on these committees.

;Members will formulate responses to consultations on proposals for new legislation and amendments to existing tax law and will promote improvements to law and procedure in this area of practice.

The committee is currently involved in ongoing consultations with the Inland Revenue.

The main committee meets on average every two months whereas the sub-committees meet as required to deal with consultation papers.

Some sub-committees meet more frequently than others.

;Applications are invited from solicitors with practice experience in tax law who are able to contribute positive ideas and to commit time to the heavy workload of the committee.

We would be interested to hear from practitioners from non-London firms that have a particular interest in personal taxation and/or small business taxation.
