The Law Society has postponed its national conference aimed at corporate-focused lawyers, it announced today.

The event, which was to have been held next month, will now take place in 2013 in London. Law Conference 2012 was scheduled for 20-22 September at Celtic Manor, Newport.

A spokesman said that while the event had attracted 'considerable support' from speakers and delegates, 'it has become clear that the geographical location presented something of an obstacle to the intended audience’.

A London-based conference will be held in 2013 to appeal to the same membership sector. 'We remain committed to providing an annual forum for corporate-focused lawyers, and will continue to build on our range of events, products and engagement with all members of the solicitors' profession, irrespective of the different priorities they may have and challenges they may face,’ the spokesman said.
