The Law Society has announced that from next Monday, 5 October, its professional indemnity insurance helpline will expand its service to assist firms that have fallen into the assigned risks pool because they were unable to obtain cover before the renewal deadline.

Chancery Lane said: ‘The Law Society has been in communication with the indemnity insurance brokers asking them to assist with this initiative and a number of them have already pledged their support. We therefore encourage all firms that have as yet been unable to secure insurance from the market to contact the helpline from Monday on 020 7320 9545 or by email at PII@lawsociety.org.uk.
