A team leader who exposed himself on a work call has been barred from working in the legal profession. Andrew Harris had been with national firm Slater and Gordon for almost two years when he attended a working training session in August 2022. The event was online and hosted by external counsel.

A Solicitors Regulation Authority decision notice stated that during the call, Harris indecently exposed himself on camera, revealing his genitals to counsel and to his colleagues. The circumstances of the incident were not explained and the SRA notice did not give any mitigation that might have been put forward. No further details were provided of the firm's response, but Harris left his position as team leader in the fast track personal injury department around two weeks later.

The SRA found that Harris's conduct breached two principles governing that members of the profession act with integrity and in a way that upholds public trust and confidence.

It was found that it would be undesirable for Harris to be an employee of any regulated firm and he was made subject to a disqualification order. He was also ordered to pay £600 costs.

A spokesperson for Slater and Gordon said: 'Following an incident involving Mr Harris in 2022, Slater and Gordon reported his conduct to the SRA and terminated his employment. The SRA has now concluded its own investigation.'
