Ball's excuse for a pants joke

Obiter is not an expert in the latest trends in lingerie, but this knowledge could soon be something personal injury specialists need to acquaint themselves with.

Housewives’ favourite Michael Ball is reported to have banned audience members on his forthcoming tour from throwing their knickers at him, after a recent painful experience where he was hit in the eye.

‘I have had women throwing their underwear at me but one nearly had my eye out so they are banned now. No pants.’

Obiter is unaware of any previous examples of thrown underwear causing injury. (Tom Jones, who has had his fair share of garments chucked in his direction, still looks in fine fettle.)

Could this become an expanding area of personal injury litigation? If so, the claimants will need a good brief (and yes, this entire piece was an excuse for that joke).
