Obiter can report that the much-hyped concept of ‘Tesco law’ has arrived – but not in the form predicted. Much to the disappointment of industry-watchers, the supermarket chain has never shown any interest. However Obiter did stumble across an advertisement for legal services in a Watford store.

Camilla Choudhury-Khawaja, director of legal consultancy The Women’s Lawyer, was offering free advice there last weekend. Choudhury-Khawaja, who was called to the bar in 1998, set up the consultancy to help litigants in person with family law and related matters. The venture was so successful she has been invited back.
