Since 2009, the global legal profession battle of the bands Law Rocks! has raised almost $7 million for good causes around the world. The figure was announced to cheers from a packed International Bar Association crowd at O'Sullivans By The Mill in Paris last night.

The evening featured three very class acts. Trowers & Hamlins' Hot Whip opened with a cheekily slick set. The highlight, Blur's Park Life, had the room chanting on cue. Next up: superb musicianship and stage presence from the multi-talented Track Changes, from Level ft. Mishcon de Reya.

They were hard acts to follow, which is probably why IBA stalwarts Seven Seas were on third. The multi-national, multi-firm band of shipping lawyers has been rocking IBAs since 2013 and they didn't disappoint last night with a set of stomping rock classics and blistering guitar work. All the more remarkable as they generally manage to rehearse only once a year.

Well, there had to be a winner and this time it was the Trowers & Hamlins lads who returned to the stage for multiple encores before the curfew called time. Another great night.

We look forward to Law Rocks! returning to London in the near future. A tip for next time? Book early: founders Nick Child and Damian Hickman spent a large part of yesterday apologising to latecomers for having no tickets left.
