With Legal London basking in a late summer heatwave, Obiter rather fancies taking a riverside walk. Alas we’ll have to wait until 14 October for the return of the Walk the Thames event organised by the ever-energetic London Legal Support Trust. The walk brings the legal community together to take on a half or full marathon (walking or running) in aid of access to justice.

This year’s full marathon will be led by Lord Justice Haddon-Cave, and the half marathon by Sir Peter Gross. The full marathon and first half marathon are for the early birds, starting at 9am from Tower Bridge, while the second half marathon begins at 12pm in Putney.

Since it began in 2008, the event has raised over £400,000. If you would like to take part, there is no registration fee, but walkers are encouraged to raise a minimum of £50 per person in sponsorship. For more information see.
