National firm Mills & Reeve has announced that every member of staff will get a bonus of at least £966 this year, after financial results that appear to defy the coronavirus effect.

The firm said this week it had increased turnover by 2.9% to £114.1m for the year ending 31 May – more than two months into the UK’s lockdown. The firm declined to give details of profits.

As happened last year, the firm will pay a bonus to every employee depending on length of service. This year the figure will be £966 for full-time workers who joined in the past year rising to £1,111 for those who have been there at least five years. But the bonus levels are down on the past two years, when long-term staff received £1,500 and £2,300 respectively.

Undaunted, we have worked incredibly hard maintaining our commitment to and delivering for, our clients. We are responding to the challenges through new ways of working, maintaining our culture and commitment to our people.’
