“I have in recent months grown sick of reviewing files where defendants allege that the collision did not occur as the damage was inconsistent with their client's account and produce desktop reports which are as flaccid as a three day old croissant and about as much use as a Ladybird book.”

Not much unlike the copy/paste reports defendants often receive from a certain engineer’s firm (won’t name names but it rhymes with A T Dorriss).

In 6 years I’ve yet to come across one where they have said a claimant’s vehicle is roadworthy, or that temporary repairs are viable.

Even had one desktop report that said only visible damage is a scratch on the rear bumper but there may be underlying damage so on a precautionary basis the vehicle should not be driven and is deemed unroadworthy. I imagine the £££ signs were rolling around the eyes of the credit hire company’s claims handlers upon reading that.
