Louis Charalambous
£25, Cinto Press
★★★★✩
This is a brilliant read for anyone with an interest in the stories behind the headlines. Louis has acted on some of the biggest cases in media law history and the book offers a fascinating insight into those which have helped shape media law. Anyone considering a career in this field will no doubt be inspired by the enviable trajectory of Louis’ career to date.

The book describes some of this country’s most significant libel and privacy cases, including those of Christopher Jefferies, Robert Murat, PJS and Johnny Depp, providing the reader with unique, behind-the-scenes access to what actually transpired both inside the courtroom and beyond.
Louis’ background in criminal law is particularly interesting. This appears to have served him well in his media law practice, where his cases have often involved criminal law elements.

The book is well written and draws the reader in with its fast-paced account of a varied and exciting caseload of household names. It offers new perspectives on well-known cases, lifting the veil to show what actually goes on behind closed doors, including how a case is formed and run successfully to trial.
