Abbeyfield Society, The
Established in 1956 by Richard Carr-Gomm OBE, the Abbeyfield Society is a charity that provides housing, residential care and support to older people. It is its mission to fulfil Carr-Gomm’s vision of alleviating loneliness in later life by bringing people together. Abbeyfield strives to enhance the quality of life for older people by providing high quality accommodation in a stimulating environment and enabling them to maintain a socially active life. Today, our dedicated caring staff and volunteers support older people in homes across the UK.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire; representing a population in excess of six million. The three aircraft each carries a crew compromising a pilot and two critical care paramedics (CCP) or a CCP and accompanying flight doctor, plus full life-support medical equipment and advanced medicines.
