International firm Clyde & Co has reported profits down by nearly 10% against what it described as 'a volatile geopolitical and commercial backdrop'.
In the year to 30 April 2026, the firm reported profits of £160 million, down 9.86% from the previous year. Firmwide revenues grew 2% to £857m on a constant currency basis. It was the firm’s 28th consecutive year of growth.
North America remained the fastest-growing region, with revenue increasing to £237m, or 28% of total revenue. The UK remained the firm’s largest region, generating 47% of revenue. Middle East and Africa accounted for 10%, Europe 7%, Asia Pacific 6% and Latin America 2%.
The firm said growth was impacted by the smaller business in Asia Pacific following the firm’s resizing in Australia and adverse conditions due to conflict in the Middle East. However the firm opened three new offices, taking its global presence to 74 offices across 32 countries.
Matthew Kelsall, chief executive, said: 'Against a volatile geopolitical and commercial backdrop, the firm delivered a resilient revenue performance and continued to make progress in the areas that matter most to our clients. Our global platform, sector focus and geographic spread remain real strengths, with North America again delivering strong growth and our client engagement strategy gaining traction across regions and practice groups.'
