Two global heavyweights have indicated their commitment to the UK with a healthy proportion of new partners working in London.
Freshfields has announced 43 new partners of which 11 are based in London, while for A&O Shearman it was nine out of 33 new partners.
The newly appointed partners at Freshfields are drawn from all practice groups and regions worldwide, with the global transactions division contributing the biggest pool of promotions. London-based partner promotions are Christina Franzese, Oliver Aikens, Zofia Aszendorf, Piusha Bose, Lucy Cliff, Richard Daniels, Egor Marisin, Angus Scott, Christopher Yarrow, Chantelle Nicholas and Samuel Withnall.

The promotions at A&O Shearman include 14 across continental Europe, nine in the United Kingdom, four in the United States, three in Asia Pacific, two in the Middle East, and one in Africa.

Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) saw the largest number of new partners, followed by global financial markets and antitrust.
The new London partners are James Ashcroft, Gordon Bartlett, Josh Baxter, Nicholas Gomes, Poppy Latham, Tim Monahan, Jack Prettejohn, Bhishaan Shah and Daniel Smith.
